Rebuilding a Tile Manufacturer's E-Commerce Presence for Scale
How Marvanix helped Icestone Ceramica migrate, expand, and structure its catalog and content for sustainable organic growth.
Key Challenges
Icestone Ceramica operates in a competitive tile export market, where fast-loading product pages and strong search visibility are essential to converting browsers into WhatsApp inquiries. But their growing catalog was outpacing their site’s structure. As new tile series were added, legacy product pages were left behind — undocumented, unlinked, and at risk of disappearing from search entirely.
Despite a large and varied product range, much of the existing content was thin and generic, doing little to reflect what actually set Icestone’s catalog apart. The brand needed a content and technical foundation that could scale with the business, not hold it back.
- Orphaned Legacy Pages – As product pages were restructured into size-specific categories, older URLs risked losing their search rankings entirely without a proper migration plan in place.
- Undocumented Catalog Growth – Hundreds of SKUs across multiple tile series existed only in supplier PDFs, with no structured way to bring them online.
- Thin, Generic Content – Existing category and blog pages weren’t built around Icestone’s real product taxonomy, limiting both search visibility and buyer trust.
Our Solutions & Process — Icestone Ceramica
Marvanix approached this as a structured, three-part rebuild rather than a series of quick fixes. Every decision was grounded in real data — Search Console queries, live sitemap structure, and actual supplier catalogs — so the site’s growth stayed sustainable rather than short-term.
We began with a careful migration strategy, moving legacy product pages into size-specific categories through a large-scale 301 redirect process, guided by Search Console data to decide what to retire versus redirect. From there, we digitized the full product catalog — extracting SKUs, sizes, and specifications from supplier PDFs and importing them into WooCommerce across multiple tile series. Finally, we built a complete SEO content architecture from the ground up: pillar and sub-pillar pages organized by room, material, color, design, size, and finish, backed by a competitive gap analysis and a rewrite of underperforming existing content using real search query data.
- Search-Safe Migration – A large-scale 301 redirect migration moved legacy pages into a size-specific structure without losing existing search equity.
- Catalog Digitization & Import – Supplier PDF catalogs were processed into structured WooCommerce data, bringing hundreds of SKUs online across multiple tile series.
- Full SEO Content Architecture – A pillar/sub-pillar content structure was built around Icestone’s real taxonomy, supported by competitive analysis and data-driven content rewrites.
